Clear answers to common questions about our care

We know starting care—especially for hormones or weight loss—comes with questions. Below are answers to some of the most common things patients ask before getting started.

If you don’t see your question here, our team is happy to help. Give us a call at 281-394-4959 or email admin@hibiscus.health

Getting Started

Do I need an intake and lab review before starting treatment?

Yes. All care at Hibiscus begins with a comprehensive intake and lab review. This step allows us to understand what’s happening inside your body and ensure that any treatment plan is safe, personalized, and appropriate for your goals.

Can I skip the intake and go straight to treatment?

No. We do not start long-term hormone or weight loss programs without first completing the intake and lab review. This approach is central to how we practice and ensures thoughtful, physician-led care.

What happens during the intake visit?

During your intake visit, your provider will review your health history, symptoms, goals, and lab results. You’ll receive clear explanations and a personalized roadmap outlining recommended next steps.

Hormone Care

Do you offer bioidentical hormone therapy (HRT)?

Yes. Bioidentical hormone therapy may be recommended when appropriate, based on your symptoms, lab results, and overall health. Not every patient needs HRT, and recommendations are always individualized.

Is hormone therapy safe?

Hormone therapy can be safe and effective when prescribed thoughtfully and monitored appropriately. Our approach is data-driven and personalized, with ongoing physician oversight.

Do you treat perimenopause and menopause?

Yes. We specialize in caring for women navigating perimenopause and menopause, including symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disruption, mood changes, brain fog, and weight shifts.

Medical Weight Loss

Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications?

When appropriate, GLP-1 medications may be part of a personalized weight loss plan. Medication decisions are made after reviewing your intake and labs and discussing risks, benefits, and alternatives.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Results vary based on individual factors such as metabolism, hormone status, and adherence to the care plan. Our goal is sustainable, medically supported weight loss—not rapid or extreme results.

Is weight loss care available virtually?

Yes. Medical weight loss services are available both in person and via secure telemedicine for patients in states where we are licensed.

Aesthetics

Are your aesthetic treatments safe for skin of color?

Yes. We prioritize treatments and techniques that are safe for all skin types, including melanin-rich skin. Every aesthetic plan is customized to minimize risk and support long-term skin health.

Do I need a consultation before aesthetic treatments?

Yes. A consultation is required to ensure the recommended treatment aligns with your skin type, goals, and medical history.

Virtual Care & Location

Do you offer virtual visits?

Yes. We provide secure virtual consultations for hormone care and medical weight loss across multiple states.

Which states do you offer virtual care in?

We are licensed to provide virtual care in the following states:
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin.

Scheduling & Payments
