Dermal fillers are injections that can help to improve the appearance of facial wrinkles, fine lines, folds, and volume loss. They are also used to provide lip augmentation. The fillers used at Hibiscus Health and Wellness last on average 9 months to 2 years depending on the product used. We use the Juvederm and Restylane collection of fillers.

Botox, or Botulinum Toxin A, is a neurotoxin that is injected into the face to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It is most commonly used in the forehead  and around the eyes, but can also be used in other parts of the face and body.  Results last for 3-4 months in most patients. At Hibiscus Health and Wellness we use BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport®.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a procedure that uses a device to make tiny punctures in the skin. This triggers increased collagen production in those areas. The result is rejuvenation of your skin with significant improvement in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, acne scarring and post-surgical scars. This procedure is safe for darker skin tones who may be at higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring following skin resurfacing treatments. After an initial set of about 3-4 treatments spaced a month apart, it is recommended to continue maintenance treatments 3-4 times per year.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a skin rejuvenation treatment that leads to younger, smoother, glowing skin within days. They help to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation including melasma, and acne scarring. We use medical grade peels and offer a variety of peels that are safe for all skin types including darker skin. At Hibiscus Health and Wellness we offer SkinMedica Peels, The Perfect Derma Peel, and a Rhonda Allison Hibiscus Peel. Results can be seen after just one peel, but some patients may need several sessions to achieve desired results.

Microdermabrasion & Dermaplaning

These are exfoliative proedures. Microdermabrasion uses a diamond-tipped device to exfoliate the skin. This can treat light scarring, skin discoloration, and remove buildup. It can be performed in conjunction with other procedures and leads to improved skin texture and tone. Microdermabrasion can be performed monthly as needed to maintain desired results. Dermaplaning is a lighter exfoliative procedure that uses a blade to remove surface skin cells as well as fine hairs on the face. This can be done alone or in conjunction with another procedure such as microdermabrasion or a chemical peel for added results. This procedure can be performed as often as once every 2 weeks.
